A free, open-source Android app that makes sure no dose is missed: Persian and right-to-left, with the Solar Hijri calendar, fully offline, with no ads and no data collection.

Project Overview
Medication reminder apps are either English-only without the Solar Hijri calendar, or full of ads and send people's medical data to a server. Real prescriptions are also more complex than "every day at 8": "2 pills, Saturdays only", "21 days on, 7 days off", or half a pill in the morning and one at night.
Medicine Reminder supports all of these, and its alarm is built not to be missed: it rings on the lock screen, offers "taken / 10 minutes later / skip" right on the notification, reminds you again if you don't respond, and reschedules itself after a reboot or a clock change. It also tracks pill stock, adherence history and backups.
The app has no internet permission; data never leaves the phone. The code is fully open on GitHub, and every release is built, tested and signed automatically.
Key Highlights
- Five schedule types: daily, specific weekdays, every N days, on/off cycles, as needed
- Lock-screen alarm with follow-up reminders and automatic rescheduling after reboot
- Persian and right-to-left, Solar Hijri calendar, TalkBack support
- Fully offline: no internet, ads or data collection
- Tested scheduling logic and CI with signed releases
- Open source under the MIT license
Technical Implementation
Built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. The scheduling rules live in a pure-Kotlin layer with no Android dependencies and are unit-tested; the database is Room with real migrations, and alarms use setAlarmClock, which Android runs at the highest priority.
Deliberately simple: no DI framework, no navigation library and no analytics. CI on GitHub Actions, tests with JUnit and Robolectric, a Liquid Glass design with real backdrop blur, light and dark themes, and TalkBack support.
